We're a father-and-son team who experienced the SAIS problem on our own Toyotas. With the help of a close family friend and talented electrical engineer, who was tackling the same problem for another Toyota owner, we developed the Rutech Solutions bypass kit. Together, our team brings more than 50 years of combined electrical and mechanical engineering experience.

How Rutech Solutions Started

It started the way it does for a lot of Tundra, Sequoia and Land Cruiser owners. The check engine light came on, the dash lit up with VSC warnings, the truck dropped into limp mode, and the scan tool showed a code we'd come to know well: P2445, a fault in the Secondary Air Injection System (SAIS).

The dealer's answer was new air injection pumps and valves, a repair that commonly runs $1,500 to $3,500. The aftermarket fixes we found weren't much better. Most meant cutting into the factory wiring harness, which was something we didn't want to do to our own vehicles.

So Mark and Tim worked with a close family friend and electrical engineer to develop our own fix: a plug-and-play bypass module that connects to the factory connectors, with no cutting, splicing or soldering.

It worked on our trucks, so we started building kits for other owners. Since 2014, we've shipped SAIS bypass kits to Toyota and Lexus owners across the United States and worldwide.

What We Make

Our SAIS / AIP (Air Induction Pump) Bypass Kit is designed to get your truck or SUV running normally again without a costly air injection pump replacement.

Our kits include features developed to make installation straightforward and address common SAIS-related problems:

  • Plug-and-play bypass module. The module connects between the factory wiring harness and the MAF sensor and/or ECT sensor, depending on the model year. This prevents the air injection pumps from switching on during cold starts while leaving the factory wiring untouched.

  • Exhaust port block-off plates. Two plates made from 304 stainless steel block off the exhaust ports, helping protect against moisture and carbon build-up associated with SAIS fault codes such as P1441, P1444, P2440 and P2442.

  • GEN II module for 2008 and later models. We continued improving our original design to address issues found in earlier bypass systems. Our GEN II module resolves the P011B coolant-temperature code that some earlier bypass designs could trigger.

  • Clean installation without additional wiring. The bypass module is designed to time out 12 seconds after the ignition is switched on, allowing installation without running extra wires through the engine bay.

Our bypass kits are available for compatible 4.7L and 5.7L V8 Toyota and Lexus vehicles, including:

  • Toyota Tundra

  • Toyota Sequoia

  • Toyota 4Runner

  • Toyota Land Cruiser

  • Lexus GX470

  • Lexus LX470

  • Lexus LX570

Kits cover compatible models from 2004 to 2013, depending on the vehicle and engine configuration.
